The Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA)

RCIA has been in existence from the early beginnings of Christianity. It was imperative during these present-day times, that we recall the purpose of the Christ-mission. After the death, resurrection and Ascension of Jesus, His Apostles and other disciples went out preaching and teaching in His Name. There was a time of great persecution the “Followers of the Way” made it their duty to share with others their understanding of what Jesus wanted them to understand about this ‘new’ faith and Salvation was for all. It was no longer to be the right of only Jews but for all who believed in the Name of Jesus and lived according to His examples. Our understanding of the history and facts of our faith were important to the early Christians and all Christians to come.

An active faith program that empowers those who seek the truth to begin to explore, probe and question what they hold as a belief, speculation or just wrong information. Time is set aside to explore the Scriptures, read some of our catechism beliefs, examine the Doctors of the faith and enter a deeper faith walk. It is an ongoing journey and not just a few weeks or months, but the beginning or continuation of our life faith journey.

RCIA experience over the months of sharing will build a rich understanding as catechumens which will build a level of expectation as one prepares to receive one or more of the sacraments, niz. Baptism, Holy Eucharist, Reconciliation and Confirmation, during the Easter Triduum. Join us as we begin this exploration.
